What is Energy Medicine

Energy medicine is an Alternative Medicine area that deals with energy fields as the method to heal a condition. We can distinct two branches of the Energy Medicine:

Energy medicine that works with - Measurable energy - the energy can be measured and consist of various forms of the typical energies as: Electromagnetic forces, visible and invisible light, magnetism, laser beams, sound, etc....

Energy medicine that works with - Putative energy - which can be perceived by human beings but the present technology, does not permit measure it.

The therapies involving putative energy fields are based on the concept that human beings are filled with a subtle form of energy. This vital energy is known under different names in different cultures, such as Qi in traditional Chinese medicine, Prana – in Indian Ayurveda, Orgone as a western explanation, Mana – in oceanic Asia cultures, Homeopathic Resonance – in homeopathy, Spirit, Ki, Gi, Fohat, Tsa rLung, Eros, biofield, etc.

Some of the therapies involving measurable energy are: Magnetic Therapy, Sound Energy Therapy, Millimeter Wave Therapy, and Light Therapy.

Energy Medicine is still very little researched. The evidence that Energy medicine works is not very evident. There is a lot of room to subjectivity, misinterpretation, skepticism and misuse.
