Petrissage
Petrissage is a squeezing of the muscle. It is done with both hands in synchronized manner or alternatively like a kneading. Milks the muscle of waste products. Can help to free adhesions. Increases circulation and nutrition to the muscle. It is one of the most important moves and it brings the patient the most pleasure. You have to constantly communicate to your patient at least at the first time so you won’t use too much pressure.
- Pincement
You are lightly pinching and rolling the skin. This might not be suitable for all your clients as it involves a high level of pain.
- Kneading
It is a dough kneading movement with your hands synchronized or alternating in a fast sequence. You have to grab as much muscle as you can but do not squeeze too hard.

- Milking
Milking is a form of kneading which uses both hands to grab onto a large muscle group. You grab the muscle with both of your hands, and start squeezing with one hand and then the other, alternating rhythmically and rolling the flesh. This kind of stroke can be performed on the shoulders, upper arms, thighs, and calves.
