Head Nadis and Marmas - Ayurveda

Marma, Nadis, Chakras and Prana

Indian head massage is based on the assumption that the human body has a network of channels called Nadis and the Nadis include energetic centers called Marmas. Marmas are sensitive points serving as gates between physical and spiritual levels, (it is something similar to Chinese pressopuncture points).
Prana, which means energy, flows through Nadis, throughout our body, fueling Chakras. Chakras in turn, control all of the emotional and physiological functions in our bodies. Imbalanced Chakras usually cause a physical or emotional imbalance.

We can manipulate our energetic bodies through Marmas. No matter what kind of massage we perform, we will activate Marmas. Of course there is a Forehead Reikiquality difference between massage focused on marma and a regular massage. With any of the regular massage techniques you will obtain marma activation only as a secondary benefit.
Marma can be activated not only by massage or touch; they can be activated by manipulating the aura, (the energetic body that surrounds us). In normal circumstance s, (healthy state), they are very responsive to external stimulus of any kind. For example you could point your finger, or your palm, to a Marma and you will activate it. This is the basis of the Healing Touch technique.

Healing Touch

Place your left hand on the subject’s forehead as a support. Pass your right hand’s fingers gently through the hair against the direction of hair growth starting from neck and go all the way to the top of the head. When you reach the top of the head where the hair forms a swirl rest your hand for a few seconds.

Simple techniques to activate marma

Put your left hand on your subject’s neck and the right hand above the top of the head where hair forms a swirl. Do not touch the head. Describe circular passes trying to “make a connection” with the subject.
